The main subject of the research is to evaluate from a legislative point of view, UAE's Trademark Law No (37) of the year 1992 amended as per provisions of law No (8) of the year 2002, and in die light of Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property 1883 of which UAE is a member as per the federal decree No (20) of the year 1996.

The study also sheds the light on the Agreement on Trade - Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), one of the 28 agreements embodied in the Final Act concluded in Uruguay to which UAE is also a signatory country, as per the Federal Decree No (20) of the year 1997.

The study doesn’t only set forth a criticism on some of the articles but also suggests alternate formulas believed to be more appropriate in achieving the desired end.

Moreover, the study defines trademark concept along with trademarks which can not be registered, and those worldwide renowned, in addition to persons having the right to register trademarks and categories which trademarks registration can be executed on their behalf.

Besides, the research sets forth terms and conditions of trademark registration, advertising, objection, addition, cancellation, amending and lastly, authorities concerned for checking trademarks.

The research summed up with that Law No (8) of the year 2002 met expectations of those calling for trademarks law's legislative development.

In his epilogue, the researcher explains that what he contributed in this research was a mere personal point of view grounded on his past experience in the field.
