Abstract EN

This treatise is intended to throw the spotlight on the issue of social adaptation of GCC Countries students who study in AI Balqa Applied University in Jordan, and highlight how variables in terms of Gender, Specialty and Academic Year affect social adaptation process.

The study surveyed a sample of 90 students of the academic year 2009 - 2010 representing both genders.

Results have revealed that academic, health, reactionary and psychological adaptation was an average one.

The highest adaptation levels were manifested in the Health aspect followed by the reactionary, psychological and lastly the academic one.

Lowest levels of adaptation were registered in the social adaptation; however, the overall adaptation level of the students was an average one.

Findings showed some statistical differences on the academic adaptation level a matter that can be ascribable to the difference of gender.

However, no statistical differences were registered in the rest of adaptation aspects.

Findings have also shown some statistical differences on the health adaptation level which can be attributed to the differences of marital status; bachelors were more health adapted than other categories.

Findings haven’t shown any statistical differences attributed to marital status in the other adaptation aspects.
