English Abstract

The purpose of the study was to develop the English textbook for the tenth grade in light of the principles of the constructivism theory in Jordan during the academic year 2012/2013.

The study attempted to answer the following research questions : 1.

What are the components of the developed module in the tenth grade English language textbook in light of the principles of constructivism theory? 2.

Is there an effect for using the developed module on the tenth grade students’ achievement? The sample of the study included (55) tenth grade male students in Ammar Bin Yaser Secondary school for boys whom where assigned into two groups, the experimental group consisted of (29) students and the control group was (26). The findings of the study indicated the following: 1.

Developing the English language textbook for the tenth grade in light of the constructivism theory. 2.

Revealing a positive effect on students’ achievement for teaching the developed educational module in favor of the experimental group. In light of the findings of the study, the researcher recommended some recommendations to the concerns.
