تناول هذا البحث إلقاء المزيد من الضوء على المنهج العلمي الأكاديمي للدكتور العلي، فضلا عن آراءه التاريخية و طروحاته في مجال البحث التاريخي في تاريخ العرب قبل الإسلام و بعده، و جهوده العلمية في تخريج الدفعات من طلبة الدراسات العليا و المشاركة في الندوات و المؤتمرات، و إصدار المؤلفات التاريخية، كونه أحد أبرز المؤرخين في العراق خلال القرن العشرين.

The research deals with the important on the scientific method academic Dr.
Ali as well as his views and historical arguments in the field of historical research in the history of Arabs before and after Islam and it's scientific graduation payments form graduate students and participate in seminars, conferences, and issuing publications historical being one of the leading historians in Iraq during the twentieth century.
