تناول البح دراسة أدوات التعريف في ثلاث لغات : (الإنكليزية و الفرنسية و العربية) ؛ و ذلك من الإشارة إلى استعمالاتها في هذه اللغات الثلاث و إظهار أوجه التشابه و الاختلاف بينهم.
و بهذا تحاول الدراسة إثبات أن استعمال أدوات التعريف في هذه اللغات غير متشابه و ذلك تبعا لميزات و وظائف محددة للأسماء التي تليها.
إذ أظهرت الدراسة وجود اختلافات عديدة بين هذه اللغات الثلاث تبعا لاستعمالها لأدوات التعريف.
