Abstract EN

The he study aimed to identify the problems faced by universities students in Hebron Governorate when using social networking sites, and the role of the university administration in solving it.

To achieve the objectives of the study a questionnaire was built in its final form of (37) items, & has been verified its validity and reliability.

The sample consisted of (198) students were selected randomly from universities students in Hebron Governorate (Al-Quds Open, Hebron, & Palestine Polytechnic), in the first semester of the academic year 2011- 2012.

And also were interviewed five respondents of educational administrators from Palestinian universities to highlighted social networks problems in their universities and their role in solving it.

The study found that the degree of student assessment of the problems were "high." Then study showed no statistically significant differences in the following variables: sex, economic level, age, and marital status.

As university administrators confirmed that there is no real and clear role to address the problems faced by university students in Hebron Governorate when using social networking sites, and that all proposed initiatives comes within the framework of the profile frame.

In light of these findings, the study came up with a number of recommendations: The university administration must raise awareness among university students in how to use social networking sites in a positive way, and encourage faculty members and administrators to communicate with students through social networks to attract students to meaningful topics, and the students could feel that they are observers, and they becomes more serious in dealing with this technique.
