Abstract EN

The study aims at identifying the attitudes of Social Work students at Al-Quds University towards the Voluntary Program.

The study sample consisted of (205) registered students of both sexes, from the class of (2011/2012), (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students).The study also aimed at identifying character traits of the volunteer, motives and attitude towards voluntary institutions, the effects of gender and place of residence.

The findings showed that the level of acceptance of voluntary work at Al-Quds University is very high, there is wide participation in voluntary work among the students and interest in volunteer work is not confined to gender or place of residence.

Voluntary work is considered one of the models that motivate students to help others.

The study recommended working on raising public awareness outside the university to the importance of voluntary work, by highlighting its importance in the local media and the importance of encouraging volunteer students, giving them appreciation and rewarding their efforts for the common good.
