Abstract AR
Abstract EN
Elastic–plastic finite-element programs were applied to the middle crack tension specimen using an elastic–perfectly plastic aluminum 2024 material under constant amplitude crack extensions.
Stabilized crack-opening stresses were determined under plane stress, plane strain and three-dimensional stress analysis.
Variation of crackopening and closure stresses for different stress levels using three dimensional analysis were investigated under zero stress ratio.
The plasticity part of the program uses initial stress approach.
In the analysis, the crack was advanced one element size as the applied load reached the maximum Value of each load cycle.
