Abstract AR
Abstract EN
Polystyrene foam (PS foam) both without and with 1% benzoyl peroxide coating was found to be exponentially degraded within 6 months under the open-air and arti ficial weathering exposure.
The reaction mechanism for this foam was identi fied as chain scission.
The peroxide was effectively used as photoaccelerator.
The experimental data and also the statistical hypotheses analysis using t-test with a 95% degree of confidence suggested that the data obtained from the open-air and those from arti fi cial weathering exposure were analogous.
