Of 78 causeso f obsh-uctivjea undicet reaxedin a threey earsp eriod form ( 1/6/1998- i/6/2000 ),7 were due to the intrabiiiary rupture ofhydatid cysts ofthe liver.

Eosinophilia ofmorc than t0%, raiseda lkalinep hospbataspoo, sitivein dir€cth aemagglutinatitoens tw erer oted in all 7 causes.

Plain X-ray of the abdomen,u it€sound, endoscopicr etrogradec holangio-panereatogmphayn d CT scan were useful modalities for delmile preoperative diagnosis.

Ali patients had opemtive treatment which consistedo f cyst drainage,p adal pericystectomyc, Neftageo fthe remaining cavity which was stitched with tube dmin, cholecystectomyp, ericystectomya nd T-tube drainage.T hey all recover€d salisfactorily and without complication in a follow-up period of one yeat .
