Abstract EN
This study was conducted to find whether the brushing technique (horizontal technique versus roll technique) would affect the oral hygiene of orthodontic patients or not.
Materials and methods : This study was conducted on fifteen patients who were undergoing orthodontic treatment and were submitted to the clinical trial by changing the tooth brushing maneuver throughout the orthodontic treatment course from the patient’s own brushing maneuver to the horizontal and then to the roll brushing technique.
Results : The results showed that the roll technique had a superior cleansing effect than the horizontal one, and the gender variation had no effect.
Conclusion : Patients' instructions are considered as an important factor for planning good oral hygiene.
