English Abstract

This study has been carried out in Er Rahad Turda, North Kordofan State, to investigate the quality of water in the Turda . This study depends upon actual visits to the place of research, taking samples of water from Turda, storage tank , and tap water after treatment . The researcher analysis the records of Er Rahad hospital office of statistics . The results of bacteriological analysis obvious that water is contaminated by E.

coli , while physical and chemical analysis includes measurement of ( pH value , Electirical conductivity , total hardness, Ca2 , Na+, Mg+2, K+, Fe+2 , Cu+2 ,SO4 , NH3 , NO2 ,HCO, Cl- , F- ).

The analysis proved that the concentration of cations and anions is under the permissible limits of WHO and Sudanese Standards Guidelines for Drinking Water.

The records derived from the office of statistics Er Rahad Central hospital clear fact that the disease of bilharzias spread among children whom their age between 11–17 years old . The study recommends : -Preventing entering of animals to Turda by barbed wire. -Increasing the capacity of Er Rahad water treatment station to satisfy the need of the town from the pure water. Periodical maintenance every 5 years to the body of the Turda should be considered to avoid sedimentation.
