English Abstract
-The objective of this study is to assess water supply and sanitation system in Nyala town.
The research data was obtained through questionnaires from beneficiary households , in Nyala town , some data from water, health authorities, water department some local organization and NGO related to water and sanitation .
The study include water and sanitation situation inIDPS camps surrounding Nyala town Samples collected from questioners were analyzed using statistical package for social studies method and the results indicates the prevalence of water related diseases like malaria, diarrhea diseases , eye infections, and dysenteries.
Also the study indicates that 97% of the households in Nyala town have latrines and this coverage may minimize sanitation hazards .
Also in this study water quality test was conducted in Nyala town.
Water eighty(80) samples were collected from different water sources and examined for chemical and bacteriological analysis.
The main problem in quality is the presence of fluoride, Nitrate, hardness and bacteriological contamination in hand pumps and dug wells .
Finally , the study has drawn some recommendations that can contribute in solving and improving water supply and sanitation facilities in Nyala town .
