تم فحص 85 نموذجا من سمكة القد الكبيرة (Edwards, 1771) Sphyraena barracuda من البحر الأحمر، المياه الساحلية اليمانية للتحري عن الإصابة بالمخرمات متعددة المحاجم الخلفية أثناء المدة من شهر تشرين الأول (أكتوبر) عام 2009م و حتى مايس (مايو) 2010م.
أظهرت النتائج ظهور نوعين من هذه الطفيليات و هما Vallisiopsis contort a Subhapradha, 1951 و Pentatres sphyraenae Euzet and Razarihelisoa, 1959.
يمثل ظهور هذين النوعين المذكورين من هذه المخرمات أول تسجيل لهما من الأسماك اليمانية في البحر الأحمر.
Abstract EN
A total of 85 fish specimens of the great barracuda, Sphyraena barracuda (Edwards, 1771) from the Red Sea, Yemeni coastal waters were examined for infection with the polyopisthocotylean monogeneans during the period from October 2009 till May 2010.
The results showed the occurrence of two species of these parasites; Vallisiopsis contorta Subhapradha, 1951 and Pentatres sphyraenae Euzet and Razarihelisoa, 1959.
The occurrence of these monogeneans represents their first record from the Yemeni fishes of the Red Sea.
