English Abstract

Direct relationship between level of cholesterol and reduce glucose level.

In this study 60 DM patients (30 Men, 30 Women) and 15 control in both men and women were selected in Khartoum state randomly, the age of all patients and control was over 45 years.

Reduced glucose and cholesterol were determined following Enzymatic kits techniques.

Samples taken from fasting patients and the relation between level of reduced glucose and cholesterol level were determined.

In this research the average [F.B.G] fasting blood glucose for 15 men was 89.1 mg / DL (control) and 15 women was 171.67 (control).

The average (F.B.G) for 30 men (diabetic mellitus type II) was 166.5 mg / DL.

The average (F.B.G) for women (diabetic mellitus type II) was 174.5 mg / DL.

In case of cholesterol, the average concentration for 15 men (control) and 15 women (control) in serum was 141mg / DL.

The average cholesterol concentration for 30 men (D.M.

cases type II) was 136.63 mg / DL.

The average cholesterol concentration for 30 women (D.M.

cases type II) was 166.13 mg / DL.

In this research we found that there is an increase in (F.B.

G.) and cholesterol in case of women (D.M.

cases type II) compared to men (D.M.

cases type II).

There is apositive correlation between (F.B.G.) and cholesterol in women (D.M.

type II) Cholesterol control depends on sex, age and type of food.

Researchers found that the cholesterol content in serum of children after delivery and early stages was 100mg / DL(2.6 mmol / L).

Cholesterol range for healthy adults was 150-300 mg / DL (3.9- 7.8 mmol / L).

The highest level of cholesterol in serum of adult in clinical laboratories was 7.2 mmol / L.

For diabetic case the cholesterol level for adults must not exceed 4.8 mmol / L.

Due to the results in our report where there high level of (F.B.G) and high level of cholesterol in serum of women (D.,M.

type II) the cholesterol control for women must be less than 4.8 mmolL.
