English Abstract

-The objective of this study is to study and investigate a software program to simulate the performance of the Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) signal transmission through mobile channel using Quadrature Phase Shift Keying Modulation (QPSK). The performance of DS-CDMA system was performed using a simulation model.

The performance analysis of the system was based on the effect of Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN), multiple access interference, and mobile fading channels in urban areas.

System performance in terms of the error probability was simulated using Matlab software package. The results obtained from the simulation models showed that increasing the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), reduces the value of Bit Error Rate (BER). The study came out to the conclusion that increasing the code length reduces the value of bit error rate up to 0.005.

Also, increasing the number of users increases the value of bit error rate to 0.1 depending on the SNR.

Also the simulation method results show that BER depends on mobile propagation channel and noise
