English Abstract

The current study was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture Demonstration Farm to search on the effect of reusing treated waste waterin agriculture by using drip irrigation technology under Sudan conditions. Magnetized technology was also introduced to study the effect on solving the problem of emitter clogging.

The experimental work involved comparing the effect of four types of water via: treated wastewater (WW), normal water (NW), magnetized wastewater (MWW) and magnetized normal water (MNW), with four different plants, two field crops (sunflower (Su) and squash (Sq)) and two ornamental crops(damas (Da) and hydra (Hy)).

The experiment was laid in a complete randomized block design.

The parameters measured include, plants growth parameters, soil physical and chemical properties and the hydraulic performance of the drip irrigation system. The soil was analyzed before and after theexperimental work.

While during the experimental work the plants growth parameters and the hydraulic performance of the drip irrigation system were recorded. The results showed that magnetized irrigation water had positive effecton the growth parameters.

There was an increase on most of the growth parameters that had been measured.

On the other hand, the soil physical xi ii and chemical properties were improved after being irrigated with normal treated wastewater and magnetized treated wastewater.

There were in creases of 38 %, 21 %, 89 %, and 39 %, in N, Ca + Mg and K, respectively. There was an increase in the soil pH and a reduction in the sodiumad sorption ratio (SAR). However, the dripper clogging was decreased with treated magnetize dwaste water as compared to un magnetized treated wastewater.
