Abstract AR
Abstract EN
A field work has been carried out to identify the occurrence of oil and oil by-products pollution along the Red Sea coast of Yemen.
The concentration of Aliphatic Hydrocarbons from 2.46 µgg1 at station (2) to 21.72 µgg1 at station (9) and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sediment samples ranged from 0.15 ngg1 at station 5 (Al-Fazah) to 17.8 ngg1dry wt at station 3 (Al-Salif).
This pollution is a consequence of localized oil operation and/or heavy ship traffic in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
