Abstract EN

The phenomenon of financial leasing of machinery emerged strongly during the last decades in the industrial countries, where economic environments are so convenient for such a type of finance.

Doors are still open for developing countries to follow suit.

According to the form of cash flow that the firm follows, it may be found more suitable to adopt the financial lease alternative.

Royal Jordanian airlines (RJ) experienced operational leasing, but RJ is a governmental entity.

This research tried to detect the impediments of financial leasing in the private sector of Jordan.

We used the SPSS program to analyze the data collected through a questionnaire distributed to different levels of executives, for a large sample of companies.

Assumptions were set and analyzed.

Some of the results obtained indicate that executives in the sample companies perceived impediments of financial leasing of legal or financial types.

This perception is strongly correlated to forces such as education, and job occupation.

Factors such as age, and sex of the executives in the sample were excluded, because they have very weak correlation to the perception of impediments.

Finally, we recommend that Jordan should pass a law to facilitate and encourage the leasing activity.

Leasing awareness among Jordanian companies should be strongly promoted.
