Abstract EN

A theoretical analysis is presented of the zero phonon line (ZPL) observed in the bands of the systems GaAs: V3+ and InP: V3+ with zero-stress and for various components of the ZPL in these systems under uniaxial stresses.

This analysis confirms the previous theoretical and experimental results that the weakest ZPL observed in the bands of these systems must be attributed to the 3T2(3F) ®3A2(3F) transition.

It is shown that a very strong T Ä e Jahn-Teller (JT) effect is active in the 3T2 excited state of the V3+ ion in both hosts GaAs and InP.

The values of the adjustable parameters, which provide the best fit to the observed ZPL data for this transition, are compared to those of other analyses.
