English Abstract

The main objective of this research work is to study the performance analysis for one user of the direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) signal and multi–user of the direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) signal transmission through nonlinear satellite channel.

We achieve our objectives by developing analytical model to calculate the bit error rate for one and multiple user, the impairments taken into consideration in the system are: nonlinear effect of traveling wave tube (TWTA) on board satellite (AM-to AM and AM-to PM conversion), additive white Guassian noise (AWGN), multiple access interference, the performance analysis were obtained in terms of bit error rate(BER).

The program was implemented using Delphi software program and the results were obtained in graphical form.

The results obtained from analytical model show that increasing the input back-off reduces the value of bit error rate up to a certain limit.

Any further increase in back -off results in a fixed value of bit error rate if the linear region of the characteristic of TWTA is reached.

Increasing the code length reduces the value of bit error up to a certain limit.

And increasing the number of users increases the value of bit error to a certain limit depending on the SNR.
