English Abstract

The Study was conducted to study the Problems of teaching and learning English alphabet in fifth gradeat the basic level in Sudan Within the Context of taught Course "Sudan practied Integrated National English Series (SPINE) , and was an attempt to study the strength and weaknesses of teaching and Learning English alphabet and find Out practical solutions for teaching the main English sounds in the fifth grade the objectives of study is to knowing the Shapes of letters and developing their Correct formation.

The methodology of the research discusses the tools of the study, which consist of teachers, questionnaire, students, tests, interviews with experts and observation check List.

The results of the study: that many students couldn't produce some English Sounds due to interference of mother tongue besides inadequate teaching techniques.

There are many Recommendations one of them.

Improving the Educational process and Suggestions for further studies.
