English Abstract

The Study aims to examine and analyze the impact of modem system of education on the Islamic traditional education in the Nortem Negeria.

And it criticaly analyze the primary school national carriculum for Islamic religious knowledge, produced by the Negerian Educational Research (NERC).

The analysis would focus on Quranic recitation prograrm which has undere stimated the background of apnmary School children in the area of Qur'anic recitation, the study used adescriptive method, and its findings to: the Quranic traditional system of education has avery stroge historical relation with the Islamic intelletual growth and development of the Muslims in Northern Negeria And the Tajdid of Uthman bin fodio didnot only eradicate innovations and exploitations of Hausa rulers.

The recommendations of study are: the statement of the Islamic philosophy of education, which defineg clear the aims and objectives which setsa relation between the present and the future, and teachers have been assaigned to teach children Quranic recitation in the primary schools which Should have a special qualification in Quranic recitation, with those who have memorized the Quran with good tajwid
