Thirty dental students were selected in this study to carryout a full-mouth survey of fourteen periapical radiographs for thirty patients, to study the type, frequency and causes of radiographic technical errors.
A total number of radiographs were four hundred twenty, standardized x-ray exposure and film processing were used.
Each radiograph was evaluated individually, 59.52 percent of radiographs demonstrated technical errors.
The data obtained from this study are intended to use in improving the learning process of periapical techniques, it was concluded, student need more practicing time as well as better observation and instruction in the radiology clinic, in order to decrease the frequency of technical errors.
