إن عدوى البروسيلا هي واحدة من أهم الأمراض الحيوانية التي تنتقل للإنسان و الذي يمثل مشكلة خطيرة بسبب الخسائر الاقتصادية و بسبب أهميته للصحة العامة.
و بالتالي، تم إجراء هذه الدراسة للكشف السيرولوجى لعدوى البروسيلا بين عمال السلخانات و محلات الجزارة في مدينة أسيوط.
تم سحب 210 عينة دم خلال شهري أغسطس و سبتمبر عام 2011 و قد تم الكشف السيرولوجي على ميكروب البروسيلا عن طريق اختبار الاليزا للكشف عن الأجسام المضادة من النوع G.
و قد أعطى اختبار الاليزا نتيجة ايجابية في 72 مريضا مما يعطى نسبة إصابة بالمرض 34.28% بين الأشخاص المشاركين في الدراسة. كان من بين المؤثرات في الإصابة بالعدوى عامل السن.
فلقد كانت نسبة الإصابة بالمرض من حيث الفئة العمرية في المرضى الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 30 – 39 و 40 – 49 سنة.
و كذلك طبيعة العمل حيث كانت نسبة الإصابة أعلى في العمال المختصون بعملية الذبح أو أولئك المختصون برعاية الحيوانات نتيجة التلامس المباشر مع الحيوانات المصابة.
نسبة الإصابة أيضا كانت متناسبة تناسبا طرديا مع مدة العمل في هذا المجال فلقد كانت أعلى ما يكون في الأشخاص الذين يشغلون هذه الوظيفة لمدة تزيد عن عشرين عاما. و خلال فترة الدراسة، تم حصر ١٨ شخصا (بنسبة 25%) من عدوى البروسيلا في الأشخاص محل الدراسة.
و كانت الأعراض المرضية الأكثر شيوعا هي الإحساس بالإرهاق و التي وجدت في جميع الحالات.
بينما كانت أعراض الصداع و ألام المفاصل في 16 حالة. و نستخلص من هذه الدراسة معدل انتشار عدوى البروسيلا عالي جدا بالذات في الأشخاص المعرضين بصفة دائمة للحيوانات سواء من عمال السلخانات أو عمال الجزارة في مدينة أسيوط و بالتالي، لا بد من وضع مبادئ توجيهية عملية فعالة للعاملين في هذا المجال من أجل حمايتهم من الأمراض حيوانية المصدر.
Abstract EN
Brucellosis is one of the most important zoonotic diseases which represent a serious problem due to economic losses and its public health significance.
Hence, this cross-sectional study was carried out to determine the seroprevalence of brucellosis among workers at the slaughterhouse and butcher shops in Assiut City and also to describe the epidemiologic characteristics of the enrolled subjects.
A total of 210 blood samples were collected during August and September 2011.
Seroprevalence for Brucella was carried out by Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay.
Seventy two (34.28 %) patients were tested positive for Brucella specific Immunoglobulin G (IgG).
Seropositivity was significantly related to age, nature of occupation, and duration of work.
The most affected groups were people aged 30-39 and 40-49 years, workers with occupational exposure more than 20 years, slaughterers and animal keepers as they were the groups that have intimate contact to animals.
During the study period, 18 subjects (25 %) suffered from active Brucellosis from the seropositive group.
The most common clinical finding was fatigue that found in all active cases.
Both headache and arthralgia were detected in 16 cases.
Seropositivity to Brucella has a high prevalence among both slaughterhouse and butcher workers in Assiut City.
Thus, effective working guidelines for workers in the abattoir house and butcher shops must be developed in order to protect them from brucella infection.
