Abstract AR
Abstract EN
Major environmental risk factors for upper digestive tract cancers are poor oral hygiene.
This lead to increased acetaldehyde (ACH) levels in saliva which has been shown to be carcinogenic.
In the present study nine oral yeast species were isolated from the oral cavity of human, and then their ability to produce (ACH) Acetaldehyde from incubation with glucose by G.C head space gas chromatography were done to confirm their virulence characters in carcinoma production in oral cavity and in the digestive tract of human.
The results show that, The Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida glabrata, and the Geotrichum candidum were the only ACH positive producer species.
