Arabic Abstract

تتناول الدراسة بالبحث إنتاج المعرفة من طرف أعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة نزوى (Nizwa) بسلطنة عمان من خلال استقصاء شمل 87 عضوا تدريسيا ينتمون إلى مختلف كليات الجامعة, و قد تم تحليل البيانات باعتماد حزمة SPSS الإحصائية باستخراج التكرارات و النسب المئوية, و تنفيذ اختبارات و تحليل التباين الأحادي. تشير نتائج الدراسة إلى التدني الإجمالي لمستوى إنتاج المعرفة لدى أساتذة جامعة نزوى, فقد تجلى ذلك من خلال العدد المحدود للدراسات التي نشرها المستجوبون, و من خلال حضورهم القليل للندوات و المؤتمرات العلمية و تقدم أوراق علمية فيها, و يمكن النهوض بإنتاج المعرفة بإنتاج المعرفة لدى أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية بالجامعة إذا ما تم التعامل بجدية مع المعوقات التي تواجههم, و ذلك بالتخفيف من العبء التدريسي للأساتذة, و توفير مصادر المعلومات التي يحتاجونها, و تعديل نظام الترقيات بالجامعة.

كما يستلزم تعزيز إنتاج المعرفة بمؤسسة التعليم العالي التخطيط الجيد لاستحداث المزيد من برامج الدراسات العليا, و خاصة تلك التي على مستوى الدكتوراه, و تشجيع الأقسام الأكادمية على ذلك, كما ينبغي على إدارة الجامعة أن تشجع البحث المتداخل داخل الجامعة و خارجها لتحفيز البحث العلمي و للاستفادة من التلاقح الذي ينتج عندما تتداخل التخصصات الأكاديمية بعضها مع بعض, و يجب أيضا على إدارة الجامعة أن تستفيد من المناخ الإيجابي الذي يشعر به أساتذة الجامعة لتشجيعهم على إنتاج المعرفة.

English Abstract

ThepresentstudyinvestigatedtheknowledgeproductivityamongfacultyatUniversity of Nizwa in Oman through a survey that included 87 faculty from the different colleges of the university.

Data were analyzed using SPSS (means, frequencies, proportions, T-test, One-way ANOVA).

The results of the research revealed low knowledge productivity among the respondents.

Indeed, the publication of journal articles and the attendance of conferences in the last five years seem to be disappointing.

The knowledge productivity of faculty at University of Nizwa can be promoted and enhanced if such problems as the heavy teaching load, the lack of library and information resources, and the promotion regulations are dealt with seriously.

The establishing of more graduate programs and especially doctoral programs should be planned and encouraged to foster research at the university.

The university administration should encourage interdisciplinary research inside and outside the university to stimulate research and benefit from the cross- fertilization between different disciplines.

The University of Nizwa should take advantage of the prevalent favorable research atmosphere perceived by its faculty to motivate them for research.
