Abstract EN
A hydro-energy or wind conversion scheme, using a stand-alone, self-excited induction generator system with variable prime-mover speed, is presented in this paper.
In order to obtain self-excitation, voltage source inverter (VSI) with pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy is used.
The generated output voltage and frequency arc regulated under variation of load and speed conditions.
The regulation obtained is based on a microcomputer-controlled system by using an efficient proposed PWM strategy.
The effectiveness and validity of the proposed control scheme are demonstrated by experimental results.
