Abstract EN
A general procedure for the distribution of eddy currents in a conductive plate of finite thickness under the influence of external excitation is developed.
The excitation is given as a current loop of arbitrary shape carrying a current with arbitrary time variation.
The loop also makes a random three dimensional translational motion above the plate.
The eddy current distribution within the plate is obtained by solving the skin effect equation under appropriate boundary conditions.
The boundary value problem is solved in a rigorous manner using a new vector potential.
This new vector potential reduces the vector field equation to a scalar diffusion equation, thus, eliminating the difficulties which appear in satisfying the boundary conditions.
The eddy current distribution and the force acting on the loop are given in the form of multiple contours and Fourier integrals.
