Abstract EN

The modification of the Jordanian Constitution of 1952 is one of the most important legal works in the state after the enactment of the Constitution itself.

Such modifications have been affected by legal and political considerations and needed particular procedures for their preparation and ratification.

These modifications, if not expected, may imperil the work of the three main state institutions and this what we have seen in this article when we traced the sudden modifications of the 1952 constitution.

These modifications have ignored the “legal state” concept and concentrated on the “government legality” instead of “state legality”.

In conclusion, we suggest that all such modifications should be reconsidered in order to respect the legal system of the state .
