Abstract EN

Mineral development projects have socio-economic results.

This study tries to investigate these results in the phosphate mining project at Hasa and Abied, southern Jordan.

Results of field study and analysis of Chi square show that there are positive socio-economic results of this project and negative environmental effects.

In addition, employees in these mines and local people at Hasa and Abied support this project as a source of income and social services despite of some social and environmental problems it has, the issues which have to be solved.
