Abstract EN

A theoretical study was carried out to determine the stress distribution and pressure gradient of the flow of non-Newtonian fluid through a converging channel.

A class of generalized Newtonian models which includes a dependence on the third as well as the second invariant ofthe deformation tensor was considered.

Four viscosity fünctions have been used to demonstrate the effects of shear-thinning and e^ension^-thickening upon such flow.

Theoretical expressions have been derived for the wall shear stress and pressure gradient in the flow through a conical duct and a converging channel.
