Abstract EN
Measurements of radon concentration levels were carried out in 70 houses in Al-Karak region during the autumn season of 1997.
Calibrated dosimeters containing Cr-39 plastic detectors were prepared and distributed in houses.
The averages of radon concentrations in the eight different locations obtained in this work ranged from (69±27) to 103±55) Bq/m3.
It was found that the city of Al-Karak and the town of Mu'tah possessed the highest radon level, whereas the town of Al-Mazar possessed the lowest.
Considering all locations the average indoor Rn-222 levels was found to be (83±14) Bq/m3.
