Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to investigate the importance of certain services, skills and teaching aids which might be offered by the Learning Resource Center according to the perceptions of faculty members.

Data were obtained from (114) faculty members, (randomly selected), half of whom were selected from scientific colleges (Science, Medicine, and Engineering), and the other half from the Humanities (Art, Economic and Education).

The following conclusions were reached: (1) Five of the twenty four services were considered by faculty members as very important (supplying faculty members with programmed instructional materials was considered the most important service.

(2) Nine skills out of twenty one skills were considered very important (skills related to the use of computers in making tables of index were considered the most important ones).

(3) Of the fifteen questionnaire items related to teaching aids, six were considered very important (the Internet was considered as the most important one).

(4) No statistically significant differences that can be attributed to college, sex, or teaching experience were cited regarding the importance of services, skills, and teaching aids that might be offered by the Learning Resource Center.

Some recommendations were included in this study.
