Abstract EN

The study describes the credit policies of the Jordanian Banks, in terms of the strengths, and weaknesses of their policies, in addition to the phenomenon of bad loans in these banks.

It was concluded that the following factors do strongly affect bad debts in the Jordanian Banks.

Banks do not make field visits to projects being financed.

Banks do not know the real purpose of the loans granted.

Banks do not make accurate loan analysis before granting loans.

Banks do not have clear and written credit policies.

Based on the above-mentioned factors and other findings, the researcher came up with nine recommendations in an attempt to solve the problem of bad debts in Jordanian Banks.
