Abstract EN

The present paper comprises both the theoretical and applied aspects.

The theoretical aspect provided a general background of deletion tracing it back to its origins, presenting its uses, causes, conditions , evidence , etc.

That section is crucial to set the scientific base for text analysis.

The applied aspect presents a practical analysis of examples from the Holy Quran.

That analysis aims at identifying the internal as well as the external significance of object deletion.

The descriptive methodology was initially employed to investigate both sides of the study.

Statistical analysis was then used followed by the analysis that connected object deletion to its surface and deep structures contexts and the connection with other utterances .This analysis has aimed at investigating the semantic significance of deletion.

That methodology has been used to highlight the significance of deletion as one of the richest linguistic phenomenon in Arabic as proved by Ibn Jinni in the chapter he wrote entitled as ( the courage of Arabic) thus considering deletion as a manifestation of this courage.

That was also emphasized by Sebawayh in his book.

This could be the reason for many linguists and rhetoricians to foreground deletion.
