Phase transitions and two neutron bosons separation energies in the IBM

In the framework of the IBM the three transitional regions (vibrational, rotational , rotational g - unstable and vibrational g - unstable) are analyzed.

A new kind of plot is presented for studying phase transition in finite systems such as atomic nuclei.

The importance of analyzing binding energies and not only energy spectra and electromagnetic transitions, describing transitional regions is emphasized and a new method is discussed in order to provide a consistent description of both , ground state and excite state properties.
