يعتبر هذا البحث جزءاً من الدراسة الموسعة للكشف عن العناصر المعدنية في الدم و الشعر و الأظافر للإنسان في المملكة العربية السعودية.
تم جمع عينات عشوائية للدم و الشعر و الأظافر لبعض سكان مدينة الرياض من عمان الوقود و المطابع و المرور بالإضافة إلى العينات الضابطة.
أثبتت نتائج هذه الدراسة أن عينات الدم التي حللت تحتوي على نسبة عالية من الحديد مقارنة بالشعر و الأظافر و هذه ربما راجع إلى زيادة التلوث المعدني في المملكة العربية السعودية بعنصر الحديد.
Abstract EN
As part of a metals evaluation project, whole blood, hair and nails samples were collected from Saudi Arabian males at gas stations, printing press, traffic policemen along with human control subjects analysed for their iron content.
The results provided evidence of high accumulation of iron in whole blood which might be important in dealing with metal pollution in Saudi Arabia.
