In this Paper a computerized method is Resented where a digital image of a loaded photoelastie model is eaptured using a digital camera as It appears on a eireular transmission polariscope.

This image is then displayed on the eomputer sereen and processed to obtain the data needed to calculate the state of stress at rise boundaries.

BEM “Boundary Element Method” is then used applying the state of stress at the boundaries, to find the state of stress at any inner point.

The process is carried out using a next menu inserted into the main menu of the Autocad program.

This menu contains the commands needed to display and process the image to obtain the data needed, and to create a data file that will be used by other software to find the state of stress at any inner point usmg BEM.

The results obtained using this method compared W'ell with theoretical, experimental, and numerical solutions.-
