Abstract EN
-The electric conduction in the Polyethylene Terephthalate films (PET) is studied for a temperature range 40°C to 140°C under electric field between 24 MV / m and 72 MV/m at the atmospheric pressure.
Results showed that ions in the bulk are thermally activated with two activation energies delimited by the glass transition temperature (TK = 75 °C).
An ionic conduction process with an intersite distance of 35 A is the predominant conduction mechanism at T > TK.
A Schottky injection current is observed at high field for all the range of temperature.
The study of current-time characteristics showed a dipolar mechanism predominance at T < TK and an anomalous current behaviour at long polarisation time for high temperatures.
