تعرض هذه الورقة حالة مرضية تم استخدام قسطرة الشريان الرئوي فيها للمساعدة في علاج المريض الذي كان في حالة صدمة شديدة.
يبلغ المريض 79 سنة و يعاني من عدة و مشاكل صحية منها نقص التروية، فشل في عضلة القلب، و خلل في وظائف الكلى.
أدخل المستشفى بسبب ألم حاد في البطن استدعى تدخلا جراحيا مستعجلا، بعدها نقل المريض إلى وحدة العناية القصوى حيث تم تثبيت أنبوب قسطرة الشريان الرئوي للمريض لقياس بعض المتغيرات في الدورة الدموية و التي ساعدت في علاج المريض.
