Versatility of pedicled anterolateral thigh flap for the coverage of the inguinoscrotoperineal defect

The main nutrient vessel of the anterolateral thigh flap is the perforator originating from the descending branch of the lateral circumflex femoral artery (LCFA).

It supplies a large area of skin on the anterolateral aspect of the thigh.

We report here a case of wide inguinoscrotoperineal defect in a young male patient following a post necrotizing fascitis defect which was covered by a pedicled anterolateral thigh flap.

The result was satisfactory .The anterolateral thigh flap has the advantage of a long vascular pedicle, large caliber vessels, availability of large skin flap area, and is also suitable as a pedicle, free or flow through flap.
