يبدأ تقييم الأجسام الغريبة بعمل الصور الشعاعية الروتينية و قد بدأ مؤخرا تقبل التصوير بالصدى لاكتشاف الأجسام الغربية خاصة في الحالات التي تكون فيها نتيجة التصوير الشعاعي الروتيني سلبية.
و نقدم هنا حالة لمريض مصاب بجرح غير مندمل في الساق اليمنى حيث بين التصوير بالصدى الصوتي وجود قطعة خشبية غير ظليلة في الجرح أدت إلى عدم اندماله.
