Abstract EN
This research takes as its basis the subject of the ostrich and its image in Pre Islamic Poetry, and the poets’ approach to it.
It compares this approach with poets' approach to man and animals.
The method adopted here relies on selecting artistic passages of poetry which establish intimate relations between ostrich and life.
The ostrich portrait is full of life and it is also a symbol by which the poet displays his vision and also his feelings towards the establishment of the Arab home, and also towards perbening the Arab woman for three positive aspects of life, namely life as happiness, life as security and life as beauty.
The researcher divided his research into three items: The shep-camel and the ostrich, and the man and the ostrich, and the woman and the ostrich.
He is aware of the interlapping between the items in several points: The psychological and the social.
He has excluded the hove from the comparison because he sees that this comparison does not agree with the method which he has adopted.
