Abstract EN

This paper disusses the relationship between population and natural resources and its role in several environmental problems.

Environment represents the frame for relationship between living and non-living organisms.

Man represents the most important component that affects all other ones.

Hence, there is interrelationship between population and environment.

That resulted in diversified problem as result of increasing population needs of natural resources that should be covered by the environment.

This interrelationship can be explained by different population variables that affect and are affected by environmental problems.

As reported by many scientists, these problems are reflection of population explosion that resulted from resources depletion, environment pollution and destruction of environmental blance.

On the other hand, imbalance population distribution exerts pressure on the environment high population density in some areas increases demand of natural resources, and low population density in other areas result in neglect of these resources.

Population quality is another dimension of this problem that is reflected in health, education and training problem.

It effects the mode of utilization of natural resources.

The negative environmental behavior and irrational consumption patterns have resulted in depletion and population of the environment at a rate that threatens its blance.

The paper specifically disucsses the relationship between women and the environment as they can play important role in natural resources conservation and solving of environmental problems.

Women can contribute in managing, planning developing or deterioration of these resources through their responsibilities in household, community and different productive activities.
