أجري هذا البحث على 150 مريضا يعانون من مرض الرثيان المفصلي الشبابي و قد تم فحص العين خارجيا مع قياس قوة الإبصار و كذلك تم فحص العين باستخدام المصباح الشقي و جهاز قياس ضغط العين و منظار ضغط العين.
و قد وجد أن 27 مريضا (18 %) يعانون من لإصابات بالعين و كان أكثر شيوعا الالتهاب المزمن بالقزحية و الجسم الهدبي (100 %) و المياه البيضاء (40.74 %) و العتمة الشريطية بالقرنية (25.93 %) و المياه الزرقاء (22.22 %) كما وجد أن 29.63 % عندهم ضعف في قوة الإبصار إلى 6 / 60 أو أقل.
و أوضحت نتائج البحث أيضا أن عوامل الخطورة لإصابة العين بالتهاب مزمن بالقزحية و الجسم الهدبي في مرضى الرثيان المفصلي الشبابي هي : جنس الإناث و صغر السن بداية مزمن بالقزحية و الجسم الهدبي مع نشاط المرض المفصلي أو مدته.
و يستخلص من هذه الدراسة أنه من الأهمية أن يجري كشف دوري للعين لمرضى الرثيان المفصلي الشبابي و خصوصا الإناث صغار السن اللائي عندهن التهاب في أربعة مفاصل أو أقل و ليس عندهن عامل روماتويد و لكن عندهن أجسام مضادة للنواة في الدم.
Abstract EN
One hundred and fifty patients presenting with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria were subjected to external ophthalmic examination, visual acuity testing, slit lamp examination, tonometry and fundus examination.
Ocular lesions were found in 27 patients (18 %), the most prevalent of which were chronic anterior uveitis (CAU) in 100 % of patients with ocular manifestations, cataract (40.74%), band keratopathy (25.93%), glucoma (22.22%) and visual loss to 6/60 or worse (29.63%).
Risk factors for developing uveitis were female sex, young age, pauciarticular onset, rheumatoid factor (RF) seronegativity and antinuclear antibody (ANA) seropositivity.
However there was no significant correlation between ocular lesions and articular disease activity or duration of disease.
