Abstract EN

This research deals with a very significant question which is the issue of residing in the land of those damned and punished by God and taking ad¬vantage of its affluence, plentiful water resources and minerals.

The rever¬end theologians taking into consideration al hadith and other traditions have differed on this matter.

After investigating this issue and looking into theju- risprodent’s views and evidences, I have come to the conclusion that it is permissible.

I have based my conclusion on the holy Quran, sunnah and the objectives of Shari’a which call for the cultivation, utilization and exploita¬tion of the land.

I was also guided by the teachings of Islam which ask for the satisfaction of man’s needs, the combating of poverty and unemploy¬ment.

This is to be attempted by using all means to realize human prosperity and dignity within the framework of faith and the fear of God and by keep¬ing away from deterioration and deviation to avoid destortion of man and land.
