English Abstract

This study looks at the National Unity in the Sudan, identifies factors that affect national unity and divides the factors into dependent and independent variables; and analyses them.

The importance of this study is to identify social problems that cause instability in the Sudan; suggest alternatives for social cohesion and harmony to strengthen national unity and geography.

Countries that have developed have strong unity based on Freedoms.

The study looks at the positive and negative roles played by the (CPA, DPA & ESPA) and how they affect or effect national unity in the Sudan.

It also looks at strategic environments whose factors and conditions affect various strategic arrangements and decisions made or to be made in the Sudan.

Self-determination is one of the causes and threats to national unity of nations.

Research Methodology adopted in this Study is qualitative analysis of texts and group and individual interviews.

Findings : lack of trust and failure in confidence-building between CPA, DPA ESPA partners; successive governments failed to resolve country’s problems; current government inherited all the problems of the Sudan and handled them professionally ; peace agreements not owned by all Sudanese ; marginalization, religious indifferences, monopoly of power and some racial indifference noticed; and the indifferences between partners triggered–and may trigger yet again–calls for self-determination from some parts of the Sudan as it did happen in South Sudan.
