in this paper 2-D deterministic propagation model for building blockage in MED (Mid Earth Orbit) satellite mobile communication is derived.
The effect of building is examined using high frequency ray-tracing methods.
The analyses is performed using uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) with single and double diffraction and multiple reflection diffraction, and vice versa, are included.
By this model building blockage effects on radio channel between satellite and mobile is examined in term of narrowband chacteristics, degradation of BER (bit error rate) for radio channel, and depolarization effect.
All those parameters are examined with respect to the satellite elevation angle and mobile environment.
