Abstract EN

To evaluate the safety and efficiency of reduction of intussusception by a pneumatic technique.

Forty-eight cases of proven intussusception clinically and radio logically, who were received at Prince Rashid Ben Al-Hassan hospital in Jordan between 1996 and 2001 were involved in the study.

Forty cases were subjected to the pneumatic technique.

The success rate of the procedure was 95% and recumnce occurred only in 2 cases.

Pneumatic reduction is a safe, reliable, inexpensive and easy to perform technique with results comparable to hydrostatic reduction if the diagnosis is achieved early.
